Connect repositories

Every repository the installation covers shows up on the Repositories page of the dashboard.

Syncing

Repositories arrive on their own. Installing the app, and adding or removing repositories on GitHub afterwards, updates the list without any action from you.

Removing a repository from the installation takes it off the list, and its reviews stop appearing in the dashboard. Add it back later and it returns with its earlier reviews and findings — removing a single repository does not delete them. See Deleting your data.

Coming back from GitHub's install screen also triggers an immediate sync, so the list is already current when the dashboard loads. If you are not signed in at that point, EasyMerge asks you to finish with Continue with GitHub first, and runs the sync once you are through.

If the list still looks stale, press Sync From GitHub on the dashboard home. It re-reads every installation you have access to, including any you gained access to since you signed in, and updates the list in place.

Before anything has synced the page reads No repositories available. — Repositories you can access on GitHub will appear here. If the app is not installed anywhere you can see, it reads No GitHub App installation found.

Finding a repository

The list supports:

  • The search box — matches anywhere in owner/name, so acme/ narrows to one account and api finds every repository with that in its name.
  • The status dropdown beside it — narrows the list to repositories at one project status.
  • The organization switcher at the top of the dashboard — one installation at a time, or All organizations. It is not a filter on this page alone: it scopes the repository list, the reviews list, and the dashboard together, and it is remembered between visits. See Using the dashboard.

Selecting a repository opens its project status. The pull request count on the row opens that repository's reviews, and Settings opens its settings page.

Turning reviews on and off

Each repository has an Enable AI review on Pull Requests toggle. Turn it off and no reviews are created for that repository and nothing is posted to your pull requests; each pull request event gets a neutral EasyMerge Review check titled Review skipped instead.

New repositories start with reviews enabled, unless an admin has changed that default for the organization — see Organization settings.

Turning it back on affects future pull request events only; it does not review PRs that were opened while it was off. Push a commit to such a PR to get it reviewed.

Roles

RoleWho gets itMay do
AdminThe GitHub owners of that account — an organization's owners, or you on your own personal account — plus anyone an admin promotesEverything, including changing repository and organization settings, and other members' roles
MemberAnyone else who signs in and can see the installationView repositories, reviews, and settings — read-only

Members see a View only badge on the settings page with every control disabled, under the notice You have view-only access to this organization's settings. Ask an admin to make changes. You can still view and trigger reviews. They browse every review and open pull requests like anyone else.

Roles are per installation. You can be an admin of your personal installation and a member of your employer's.

For organizations, admins can promote and demote members from the Members page. The installer is always an admin and cannot be changed, and the last admin cannot be demoted. See Organization settings.
