The EasyMerge beta is coming in 2026

EasyMerge will open as a public beta in 2026.

It is a GitHub App that reviews your pull requests with AI. Install it on a repository and every pull request is reviewed automatically — no command to run, no workflow file to add, nothing to host. You open a pull request; EasyMerge reads the diff and comments on it, on the lines it is talking about.

We are not naming a date yet. This post sets out what EasyMerge does, what the beta will look like, and how to hear when it opens.

What a review looks like

When a pull request is opened or updated, EasyMerge:

  • adds a check run, EasyMerge Review, that tracks the review from queued to its result, right on the pull request;
  • posts one GitHub review — one notification, not one per comment — with a recommendation, a written summary of the change and a merge confidence score out of 10;
  • leaves each finding as an inline comment on the line it refers to, with a severity — critical, warning or info — and, where a concrete fix is possible, a suggestion GitHub can commit in one click.

Before anything is posted, every finding is checked once more against the whole pull request, and dropped if the rest of the change already handles it. Pure style — indentation, quotes, line length — is never reported; that is your linter's job.

What it leaves alone

EasyMerge reviews the changed lines in the diff, and nothing else. It will not comment on code you did not touch.

It also stays out of your way:

  • It never approves, requests changes or blocks a pull request. Branch protection stays yours.
  • It never pushes commits or opens pull requests of its own.
  • It does not run your tests, linters or build. Keep those in CI.

Your code

What EasyMerge sends to the model is the diff of a pull request, after the files you have excluded, with the file paths and the pull request's title and description. It never clones your repository, and it never sends files you did not change, your history or your GitHub secrets.

The app asks for read access to code, and write access only to pull request comments and check runs. The details are in Data and privacy.

What the beta includes

Everything in these docs is what the beta will ship with:

  • Automatic reviews on every pull request, with per-repository settings for trigger events, drafts, exclude patterns, which severities are posted and how many comments a review may leave.
  • The dashboard — a live list of reviews, the full detail of each one, and a home screen summing up how your repositories are doing.
  • Developer and Builder mode, so each person chooses between full technical detail and plain-language summaries.
  • Project status, a quick scan of a repository's dependencies, tests, CI and committed secrets that never reads your application source.
  • Help & Support, with tickets filed straight from a review or repository.

Free during the beta

The beta will be free. The plans on the pricing page will not apply while it runs — no trial clock, no card.

When the beta ends, nothing is reset: your account, installations, settings and review history carry over to the full product as they are.

  • Read ahead — the Quickstart walks through installing the app and getting a first review, about five minutes from start to finish.

We look forward to reviewing your pull requests.
